The frame is nice and shiny, as is the silver mesh. It measures approximately; 6 1 2 inches by 4 1 4 inches. The purse is hallmarked with the Whiting & Davis tag, as well as the Whiting & Davis stamp on the interior frame. This is a gorgeous and very rare late 1800's French antique gold tone powder and rouge compact with a lovely central mother of pearl medallion surrounded by 12 blue stones

This piece has a new flint installed

as well as "Paris" on the mother of pearl eye pieces

The piece has one very light indentation to the front

that shows in our high resolution photos

The box and pouch are also in excellent condition

It is hallmarked on the interior rouge compartment lid "KARESS WOODWORTH NEW YORK PARIS"

and the chain adds an additional 4 inches from the top of the compact

The compact is shaped like a book and inside has paper leaves which are called "Face Powder Leaves" complete with powder

but has not been tested with butane
