Mid-18th-Century English School, Portrait Of A Young Gentleman Holding A TricornThis charming mid 18th century English School oil painting depicts a young gentleman wearing a blue suit with a yellow and silver waistcoat while holding a tricorn under his left arm. It bears some resemblance to the work of Henry Pickering (c. 1720 1770 1771) and its been previously attributed to his hand. Dressed in the latest fashions, hes probably the image of his father. Its such a proud moment for the family and perhaps his first solo portrait.
