Just Passing (2 Sea Bass Heads printined in Sumi Ink) FramedThe sea bass is my favourite fish to print and probably to eat too. I'm based here on the beautiful Island of Anglesey surround by water, home to many sea bass. The bass I used for this print is supplied by a local fisherman with a licence to fish bass commercially. He catches all his bass on line and supplies many local restaurants. This print is made from a single fish, which has been 'flipped over' and printed from both sides. So I print one side

Not sure if your loved one is a lobster lover or more into sea bass

They are sometimes caught in the local waters but as yet

A second sheet of paper is then applied to the back and pressed down

The set of 5 is produced on FSC 100% recycled card 350gsm and are digitally printed here in the UK

this work continues my exploration of Gyotaku-inspired art—a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Japanese fish printing method

inking it again and then lining it up carefully to create this composition

The paper I work on is very thin oriental paper made from tree bark fiber

Making this print was so much fun
