The Weaver's Bench

The Weaver's BenchDesigned by Gabriel Tan Handcrafted by Maria Adelina and Carlos Barbosa This collection came about when Gabriel Tan met Maria Adelina, a weaver in her sixties and the last known one in Paos Ferreira, a furniture producing town in Portugal. Dona Linas energy and passion for her craft was deeply inspiring. She spoke about her work in a buoyant way and displayed great eagerness to continue developing her skills by attending workshops hosted by others.

plateau in Portuguese is a woolen rug with two concentric fields which are tufted at different pile heights: the outer ring is close-cut and restrained and feels firm underfoot
