Sardine Lino Print GyotauGosh that's quite a title! However this is what it is. I am sometimes frustrated working with small fish that they are so fragile, it makes them very hard to make a gyotaku with multiple fish on. I'm also just keen to keep expanding my practice and I like the idea of making these lino cuts at the same size of the real fish and then working with them in exactly the same way I would in Gyotkau. So as with the gyotaku, the fish lino cut is inked up and

the smaller of which was a gifted scientific sample

Eventually I managed to get it inked up and took a few prints

I felt the final panel needed something more

That said I had the size very much in mind as I composed this series of works

I brought back to my studio

We have a couple of Ash trees in the garden

These shells come from an oyster farm about 7 miles from my studio

The print is roughly A4 in size and will fit in an A4 mount or frame
