What you looking At? Gyotaku of a small John DoryLast year I bought a John Dory from my fishmonger and made some very successful prints from it. Possibly my most popular fish last year. I recently met a local marine biologist who said he might have some samples for me once they've served their purposes in the lab. When he messaged me to say he had a John Dory I was very excited. However I was not expecting this! With a body measuring approx 8cm by 6cm this John Dory is small but perfectly formed.

This lobster is printed on Thai mulberry paper measuring 70X50CMcm

A4 in size this is Chinese mulberry paper which has been wet mounted to flatten the print

Every print I make comes with a certificate of authenticity

The name for this process is Urauchi and it literally means to glue on backing

and then the paste is spread liberally over the rear of the print

Some of them started to move again but there was one that just wasn't moving

our local fishmonger

With this print it has been mounted onto board with an acid free glue

enduring finish

and the work is supplied rolled in a protective tube
