Needles were considerably more expensive than modern ones, so they were kept safe with great care. The needle case was fastened to the belt by means of a lace. This beautifully decorated piece served both a functional and a decorative purpose.
the original is held within the collection at the National Museum (Nationalmuseet) in Copenhagen
