merovingian bow broochThe bow brooch is based on a Frankish Merovingian original from the 6th7th century. Bow brooches of this kind were widely employed amongst the Germanic tribes. The original is nowadays part of the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art in Ohio, USA.
