16th century doublet with removable sleeves brownThe doublet is based on late 16th century originals depicted in Flemish, Dutch, Spanish, and English paintings. Doublets of this kind were worn throughout Europe until the first half of the 17th century, and were popular during the Dutch Eighty Years' War and the Dutch Golden Age. They were worn by both civilians and soldiers, and on occasion a matching leather vest was worn over them. The doublet features removable sleeves, permitting it to be worn
