Seaweed Gyotaku in Blue and Gold InkA small print from a seaweed I scooped up off the beach when walking the dog. I've used my regular blue and gold acrylic ink. My first effort at painting fish

The gold ink catches the light and contrasts beautifully with the matte black

I'm also just keen to keep expanding my practice and I like the idea of making these lino cuts at the same size of the real fish and then working with them in exactly the same way I would in Gyotkau

To finish off the presentation the piece has been float mounted in an Oak Foil frame and this has museum grade acrylic glazing

This is on Chinese paper measuring 34x69

Finally it was wet mounted as with all my Gyotaku work

This makes the print beautifully flat and ready for framing

The artwork has been wet mounted using the Urauchi technique—an archival method traditionally used in East Asian art to enhance the flatness and longevity of the print

This bass is printed on Thai mulberry paper measuring 69

The Tea Towel also has my Hanko on it
