Gyotaku Impression Taken from Octopus VulgarisThis print measures approx 90x80cm and is the largest octopus I've ever printed. The print is on Chinese Mulberry paper and then a backing is applied of Japanese Masa Paper to flatten and strengthen the print for framing. Gyotaku process sees ink applied to the surface of the specimen and then paper is pressed onto the surface making an impression. Each time an impression is taken, the specimen has fresh ink applied and the pressing is done gently by

This lobster was caught in a pot by a local fisherman here in North Wales
