GYOTAKU PRINT TAKEN FROM A JELLY FISHJelly fish wash up on the shores around the island. My friend who has a house down on the shore line sometimes finds herself picking her way through the jellies that wash ashore. She scooped a few up and gave me a call. We put them in a bucket of sea water and waited to see what happened. Some of them started to move again but there was one that just wasn't moving. We released the ones that had started to move back into the sea as the tide was going

I picked up one of each leaf or grass I could see as I headed down the path on this particular day and this print is a result of this gathering

This piece was inspired by a recent commission for a seaweed artwork

It measures approx 70x35cm

which literally translates as 'Hedgehog of the Sea'
