Gyotaku impression taken from the surface of OctopusWhat a challenge! Ever since I discovered Gyotaku printing I've wanted to print an octopus. They are sometimes caught in the local waters but as yet, I've not had one. This one was supplied by The Menai Seafood Company, our local fishmonger. The octopus is printed on to Chinese mulberry based paper which measures 69. 5x34cm. Ive used a blue and a gold acrylic screen printing ink. The ink is both light fast and permanent. This piece has been traditionally wet mounted using the Japanese Urauchi technique

This print is made in acrylic in which is light fast and permanent

The print will also comes with a certificate of authenticity

it is signed with her red hanko stamp

The Apron also has my Hanko on it

The ink is light fast and permanent

this should be cut down to the same size as the print for framing

and fits in an A3 frame

It will be sent unmounted and unframed

wrapped in acid free tissue paper with the certificate

The three sheets are then left to dry and bond together creating a beautifully flat print
