Lobster Love, Gyotaku Impression of an Anglesey LobsterLobster are a local seasonal seafood here on the island of Anglesey. Many local people have pots in the waters around the coast. They are such a feature of our local marine life that I always wanted to record them. However working with a hard shelled creature that is so three dimensional was always going to be a challenge. It took me a long time to find a way of making successful prints. The lobster I worked with to make this print was caught in a pot

Producing the print is only the first part of the process

The prints are then framed in a box frame which is oak stained

The bass I used for this print is supplied by a local fisherman with a licence to fish bass commercially

Supplied rolled in a poster tube wrapped in acid free tissue

The prints measure 69cm x34cm approx and are on a Chinese mulberry calligraphy paper

The gold in is iridescent and provides a beautiful shimmer to the print

I'm one of many Anglesey Artists producing original art for you home

This work is unframed and so will be rolled and sent in a poster tube with Royal Mail

Once printed the paper is cockled and will not lie flat in a frame
